Duke Energy Florida (DEF), a subsidiary of US utility Duke Energy, has partnered with Florida A&M University (FAMU) for the development of a 74.9 MW solar photovoltaic project inside the university in Central Florida, USA.
The board of trustees of (FAMU) has approved a 25-year lease agreement with the developers of the project. The Rattler solar PV park will be built on up to 800 acres of the area inside FAMU's Brooksville agricultural and environmental research station, consisting of 270,000 panels with solar trackers.
Once running, the facility can generate enough energy for the consumption of about 23, 000 homes.
