John Laing Group announced that it has agreed to acquire Duke Energy’s fifty percent equity interest in Pioneer Transmission, LLC.
Pioneer Transmission, LLC is a joint venture formed by Duke Energy and American Electric Power (AEP) to build and operate approximately 290 miles of 765-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines and related facilities in Indiana. The project links Duke Energy's Greentown Station (near Kokomo, Ind.) with AEP's Rockport Station (east of Evansville, Ind.).
John Laing was advised by Macquarie Capital, McGuireWoods LLP, Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Leo Berwick, Charles River Associates, Virtas Partners, Leidos, and Mazars. The acquisition is subject to typical regulatory approvals and is expected to complete by year end 2024.
