Duke Energy has purchased from JUWI Inc. the 175 MW Pike solar photovoltaic (PV) with energy storage project in Colorado, USA.
The solar farm, which is being constructed to serve Colorado Springs Utilities customers, consists of more than 414,000 solar panels on approximately 1,310 acres just outside the city boundaries of Colorado Springs. Pike Solar will power around 46,300 houses with electricity.
Under the terms of the contract, JUWI is responsible for the project's design, procurement, and construction. The PV farm is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of 2023.
