DTEK Renewables partnered with the Norwegian government (via Norad) to advance the development of the 650 MW Poltavska wind farm in the Poltava region of central Ukraine.
The grant, amounting to NOK 5.5 million (US$0.56 million), will fund essential geological and engineering assessments along with the preparation of design documents required to meet regulatory standards. These activities are crucial for moving the project into the construction stage. DTEK Renewables will lead the development in Ukraine’s Poltavska region, a central area currently facing energy shortages, with the project expected to be completed by 2028.
This funding is part of an EUR 8 million (US$9.2 million) Norwegian support package designated for companies investing in renewable energy and other essential sectors in Ukraine. The contribution is delivered through the Nansen Support Programme, which aims to enable private-sector investment by mitigating risks for companies operating under wartime conditions.
