DTEK completes construction of 100 MW Orlivska wind project in Zaporizhia Oblast

DTEK in the partnership with the Danish company Vestas, has completed the construction of the 100 MW Orlivska wind project in Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukraine. The company has also reached its strategic goal, which is to put 1 GW of renewable energy in operation by 2020.

The Orlivska WPP is the third wind power project of  DTEK. The Orlivska WPP is located on the shore of the Sea of Azov in Zaporizhzhia Region and consists of 26 high-tech wind turbines manufactured by Vestas, with 3.8 MW each. The Orlivska WPP has an investment of about EUR131 million (US$144.77 million), with EUR40 million (US$44.21 million) is allocated for the services and equipment supplied by the Ukrainian companies.

The plant is expected to generate 380 mln kWh annually, enough to supply 190 thousand private households and can reduce 400 thousand tons of CO2 emissions per year.
