DRAX has axed its plans to develop new gas generation at Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire, UK. The total cost of this operation will be GBP13 million (US$18.06 million).
The decision is in line with the new strategy of the company to end commercial coal generation and instead focus on renewable energy sources, namely biomass.
