Global Power Generation (GPG), a joint venture of Naturgy Energy Group SA and Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), has started construction of the 180 MW wind farm in the Australian state of Victoria.
The project involves the development of a 43-turbine wind farm in Berrybank, in the south-east of Australia. The project site spans two Shires. It will be installed in Golden Plains and in Corangamite, generating enough power to supply 138,000 Victorian homes.
GPG will use V136-4.2 MW machines to the AUD276 million (US$196.6 million) wind scheme. Keppel Prince will supply the towers in a contract worth around AUD30 million (US$21 million), and will also help the project meet targets set for local content.
Operations are expected to start in late 2020.
