Australian Economic Regulatory Authority has granted Alinta Energy an electricity generation license to build the 214.2 MW wind project in Western Australia.
Called Yandin Wind Farm, the facility will be built near the town of Dandaragan, 175km north of Perth. It will feature 51 (4.2 MW) turbines that will have be able to generate enough energy for up to 200,000 homes a year.
Built with an investment of approximately AUD400 million (US$286 million), the project is expected to be completed by 2020.
