The Binh Thuan Solar Power Investment JSC began construction of the Song Luy 1 solar power plant on September 23 with total investment of nearly VND1 trillion ($42.9 million).
The project has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with a capacity of 39 MW on 45.5 ha in Song Luy commune, Bac Binh district, south-central Binh Thuan province.
Song Luy 1 will have nearly 130,000 solar panels with a capacity of 365 Wp, using modern technology from Mono Perc with the efficiency of photovoltaic cells being up to 21.3 per cent, reducing the area of land used. The plant is expected to be completed and put into operation in April 2019 and have a power output of 80 million kWh per year.
Consultancy came from Sigma Energy from Spain, Power Consultant 4 from Vietnam, Tractebel from Belgium, ABB from Sweden, and TMEIC from Japan.
