Lightsource bp has announced its joint venture company Ameresco Sunel Energy SA as the EPC contractor and O&M provider for its 560 MW solar project in mainland Greece.

Ameresco Sunel Energy SA is a joint venture of Ameresco, Inc. and the Sunel Group. The Enipeas project, co-funded by the European Union under the "NextGenerationEU" fund, is located between the areas of Larissa and Fthiotida and is projected to be completed within 18 to 24 months. The project is divided into two clusters: Skopia, a 400MWp southern cluster, and Kalithea, a 160MWp northern cluster, which will house roughly 970,000 solar modules. Upon completion, the project is estimated to generate 0.90TWh of electricity per year, enough to power 225,000 households and save 379 kt of CO2 emissions.

As the EPC and O&M provider, Ameresco Sunel Energy SA has engaged several local contractors and service providers, including a local civil contractor, community liaison officer, security guards, environmental subcontractors, water supply services, aggregates, and concrete supplies, as well as a welfare cleaner. They have rented multiple accommodations in Skopia Village for project personnel and supplied two tractors to the communities of Skopia and Kallithea.
