CEP Renewables, CS Energy, and NJR Clean Energy Ventures (CEV) have converted a formerly contaminated brownfield into a 17 MW solar project in Holland, New Jersey, USA. This fixed-tilt solar array was constructed in two phases on a site that had previously housed a paper mill complex. The redevelopment of this site has also increased tax revenue for the local municipality.

In the 1990s, the former paper mill site was abandoned. The property owner sought out CEP Renewables to redevelop the land. Before CEP Renewables assumed management of the property, the land was remedied, deed restricted, and covered with engineering control. CEP improved the compatibility of the current engineering controls with the solar reconstruction.

CEV acquired the Holland project from CEP Renewables in 2021 and now owns 63 commercial solar projects throughout New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, with a portfolio of more than 430 MW of installed capacity.
