The Central Electricity Board (CEB) of Mauritius has launched a request for proposal (RFP) tender for the development of small-scale renewable energy hybrid facilities in the country that would have a net output capacity of 10 MW to 30 MW.

The hybrid facility should have a solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) that will enter into operation within 24 months after the signing of the energy and supply purchase agreement (ESPA) with CEB. The ESPA will be good for 20 years at a benchmark tariff of MUR4.5 (US$0.0978) per kWh. The developers may propose more than one renewable energy hybrid facility with each capacity within the 10 MW to 30 MW limit.
