Carbon Equity closed Climate Tech Portfolio Fund II at EUR 100 million (US$ 108 million) and launched Fund III with a target size of EUR 125 million (US$ 135 million).

Carbon Equity has surpassed its initial goal of EUR 75 million (US$ 81 million) and has more than doubled the size of its Fund I, which closed at EUR 42 million (US$ 45 million) in 2022. To date, Carbon Equity has secured EUR 200 million (US$ 216 million) from 700 investors, including notable entrepreneurs, C-level executives, private equity professionals, family offices, and institutional investors. With the Climate Tech Portfolio Fund II, the Dutch venture capital firm intends to invest in 7 to 10 carefully chosen private equity and venture capital funds, as well as indirectly in 150 to 200 crucial climate solutions. These solutions encompass areas such as green hydrogen, battery technology, carbon-free cement, industrial heat pumps, bioplastics, smart thermostats, and next-generation proteins.

After the successful conclusion of the Climate Tech Portfolio Fund II, Carbon Equity is initiating its Climate Tech Portfolio Fund III with a target of EUR 125 million (US$ 135 million) in funding. The introduction of Fund III builds on the effective strategies employed in Fund I and Fund II, which have already allocated resources to 15 prominent climate funds like Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Ara Partners, 2150 VC, and Energy Impact Partners. These funds have also invested in over 100 climate tech companies, achieving several early successes.
