Capital Energy has started the construction of the 34.8 MW Ayamonte wind project located in the province of Huelva in Andalusia, Spain.
The project represents a total investment of about EUR36 million (US$39.6 million) and will be equipped with six units of the Cypress wind turbines supplied by General Electric Co. Once operational, the Ayamonte wind project is expected to generate 78,000 MWh per year, enough to supply the annual demand of over 29,000 homes and offset 29,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
The project is scheduled to start operations before the end of 2023.
