The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (also known as CADE) of Brazil has approved the acquisition of a 158.5 wind complex by AES Brasil (AES Tiete Energia) from the subsidiary of Cubico Sustainable Investments Ltd.
The transaction involves about BRL806 million (US$147.4 million) of investment of AES Brasil to the Brazilian unit of Cubico, Cubico Brasil SA. The projects involved are the 64 MW Santos Wind Complex located in Ceara and the 94.5 MW MS Wind Complex located in Rio Grande do Norte.
The wind farms have been in operation since 2013.
