Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel has given its permission for Solairedirect to start test operations of Solaire Paracatu I, II, III and IV photovoltaic (PV) parks located in Minas Gerais state.
The projects have an individual capacity of 33 MW each. Together, the complex consists of more than 5,400 complete solar trackers.
Engie has won the solar parks through a government auction on December 2015. The BRL678.4 million (US$180.56 m) worth complex is owned by Solairedirect, a unit of utility Engie SA.
