Brazil awards 16 power transmission lines in auction held in São Paulo. National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), the power sector regulator of Brazil, is the agency tasked for the auction. The auction awards BRL 13.2 billion in investments with average discount of 46%. The projects will total 7,152 km of power transmission lines, as well as substations, and 14,819 MVA power capacity.

The power transmission lines will be built in 13 states in Brazil. The construction will take around 48 to 60 months.

The 13 states involved are the following: Amazonas, Amapá, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and Tocantins.

This was the 2nd auction of power transmission lines conducted this year. The first was conducted in June where another 20 lots were auctioned.

The 16 power transmission lines sold are the following:

  2. Power transmission lines project in Rio de Janeiro owned by Neoenergia SA
  3. Power transmission lines project in Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais owned by Neoenergia SA
  4. Power transmission lines project in Bahia and Tocantins owned by Energisa SA of Botelho
  5. Power transmission lines project 2 in Santa Catarina owned by CPFL Geração de Energia SA
  6. Power transmission lines project 3 in Santa Catarina owned by EMTEP / JAAC consortium
  7. Power transmission lines project in Amapá and Pará owned by Zopone Engenharia e Comércio Ltda
  8. Power transmission lines project in São Paulo owned by IG Transmissão
  9. Power transmission lines project in Amazonas owned by EMTEP / JAAC consortium
