The Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil has approved four renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 89.2 MW to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).
The project involved are:
The total investment cost for the four projects is estimated at around BRL396.21 billion (US$101.92 million). The Jaiba 3 and 4 solar projects are expected to be completed by December 7, 2021, while Rio Chalana and the Serra da Babilonia B solar plants are expected to be operational by December 30, 2019 and November 30, 2020, respectively.
REIDI was launched in 2007 that serves to grant tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
