Birch Creek Energy LLC, a US solar and storage projects promoter, has sealed the financing for the 42-MWdc Altona Solar plant in Missouri and powered up the facility.
Altona Solar, part of Birch Creek's independent power producer (IPP) strategy, is the second project in their 2024 pipeline to become operational. The project received financing and tax equity from Celtic Bank, with permanent debt provided by West Town Bank & Trust. Located on a 208-acre (84.2 ha) site in Audrain County, it is Birch Creek's first completed project in Missouri. The solar plant is connected to Ameren Missouri and generates enough electricity to power over 6,300 homes.
