Beximco awards contracts for 280 MW Sundarganj solar project in Gaidandha district

Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd (Beximco Ltd), the largest private-sector group in Bangladesh, has awarded the contracts for the development of a 280 MWp solar utility-scale power plant in Sundarganj, Gaibandha District in the Rangpur Division, Bangladesh.

LONGi has been selected to supply 280 MWp high-efficiency Hi-MO 5 modules to Beximco Limited for the project. Rays Power Infra Pvt Ltd and Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses Pvt Ltd have won the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M) jobs for the main plant. ABB has won the contract that covers the switchyard and substation, including control solutions, while Confidence Infrastructure will build the required transmission line from Sundarganj, Gaibandha to Rangpur Grid Substation, Rangpur.

Once commissioned in mid-2022, the 280 MWp solar project will make Beximco the leader in utility-scale solar power production in Bangladesh.
