The 35 MW Spectra Solar Park, a solar photovoltaic facility, has started the commercial operation in Bangladesh.
The project is located in Paturia, Manikgonj District about 85 km from Dhaka. The solar farm is owned by Spectra Solar Park Ltd, which is a partnership between Spectra Engineers Ltd and China’s Shunfeng Investments Ltd. Chinese solar inverter maker Sungrow Power Supply Co serves as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the project. The project is supported by a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Bangladesh Power Development Board will purchase the energy produced from the solar farm for over 20 years at BDT11.12 (US$0.13) per kWh.
