Banpu Power Public Company Limited (BPP) has invested in its first wind project with a capacity of 80 MW in Vietnam. The facility will be located in Soc Trang Province and will be developed in three phases - the first two of 30 MW capacity and the last one of 20 MW.
Phase one has already secured an Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) from the Department of Planning and Investment (DPI). It is currently going through a feasibility study and is expected to achieve its Commercial Operation Date (COD) within 2020. The other two phases should become operational in 2021.
BPP is currently seeking investments in conventional and renewable power projects in its target of 4.3GW in 2025.
