Banks Renewables has submitted a proposal to Leeds City Council to add battery storage capacity to the Barnsdale Solar Energy Park in the UK. The solar project was granted planning approval in 2021, and the proposed containerized battery energy storage system will have a capacity of up to 40 MW, which is capable of powering around 48,000 homes for two hours during peak times.

Banks Renewables is a family-owned business based in County Durham. The company reclaims land for varied uses, including surface mining, residential and commercial properties, and renewable energy such as onshore wind and solar PV.

Banks Renewables aims to provide sustainable and affordable energy solutions in the UK while minimizing the carbon footprint.
