The government of Queensland has given the Australian Energy Wind Farm to start the construction of 64 MW Mannuem wind park wind farm project located in South Burnett Regional Council area, with an estimated total investment of AUD128 million(US$86.1million)
The project involves the installation of 16 turbines with a capacity of between 4 MW and 4.5 MW, which will be completed by March next year. The park is expected to generate enough electricity to supply around 35,000 homes per year. The output of the facility will help save around 150,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
During construction 100 new jobs will be created and there will be a further five ongoing jobs once the wind farm is operational.
