The NSW Land and Environment Court has granted the planning permission to develop the 70 MW Crookwell 3 wind farm project after the NSW Independent Planning Commission has rejected the initial application of the developer, Global Power Generation.
Global Power Generation was granted the approval of the project that would only consist of 16 wind turbines after negotiations with the planning commission from an initial 23 turbines. The project will be built in Southern Tablelands, around 100 km north of Canberra.
The planning commission of NSW has initially rejected the project due to the potential visual impact of the project on the area.
Global Power Generation is a joint venture company established by Naturgy and the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), which owns a 25% stake.
