The state government of Western Australia has recommended the implementation of the 29 MW East Rockingham Resource Recovery Facility.
The project encompasses the design, construction, financing and operation of a greenfield Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility in the Rockingham Industry Zone 40km south of the Perth Central Business District. The facility treats approximately 300,000 tonnes per year of residual waste from municipal, commercial and industrial sources and up to 30,000 tonnes per year of biosolids. It generates 29 MW of reliable renewable energy, enough to power over 36,000 homes.
