Invenergy has signed a virtual power purchase agreement VPPA with AT&T for its 300 MW Thunderhead wind energy center in Nebraska.
The Thunderhead wind energy center is currently under its construction phase, being built in Antelope and Wheeler Counties. The wind farm is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2020.
The wind park will feature 108 GE wind turbines and expected to generate enough electricity to supply more than 115,000 local homes a year, Once operational. The wind farm creates up to 400 job for the construction and will create up to 12 full-operations jobs when the construction is complete.
WEC Energy Group has secured the 80% stake of the Thunderhead, in September of 2019.
