Aspen Power has announced the acquisition of a portfolio of 15 ground-mounted community solar projects located across Maine, USA. The projects range from 1.4 MWdc to 7 MWdc, totaling 37 MWdc, and are located throughout the state from the southern region through Bangor. Aspen Power has already brought one of the projects in Berwick, ME into commercial operation, capable of generating 2.36 MWdc solar and preventing around 2,200 metric tons of carbon emission per year.
The clean energy generated by these community solar projects will be utilized by subscribers in Maine and would support the state’s objective of achieving 80% of renewable energy by 2030.
As reducing carbon emissions continues to be of paramount importance globally, the acquisition indicates Aspen Power's commitment to sustainable energy.
