Aquila Capital raises EUR154 million of its EUR300 million target

Aquila European Renewables Income Fund PLC has raised EUR154.3 million (US$175.4 million) in an initial public offering at the end of May 2019.

The fund was initially seeking to raise EUR300 million (US$341 million) through the placing of up to 300 million shares.

The fund is launched by Hamburg-based Aquila Capital that seeks to invest in solar, wind and hydropower assets across continental Europe and the Republic of Ireland. The fund plans to acquire mostly operational assets which generate income across Iberia and Scandinavia which could be suitable for acquisition.

Aquila European Renewables Income Fund’s shares are expected to commence trading on the London Stock Exchange on 5 June 2019.
