The environmental authority of Chile has accepted the environmental impact statement (EIS) submissions for review of the planned 318.2 MWp Oxum del Tamarugal solar photovoltaic project located in the Tarapaca region.
The US$286.4 million proposed solar project was submitted for evaluation by the Ampra Ingenieria. The project will consist of up to 776,160 solar modules installed in the commune of Pozo Almonte in the province of Tamarugal and a 220-kV transmission line.
Once operational, the solar farm will generate enough energy for the consumption of up to 300,000 local homes.
