AMEA Power and its partner GPM Holding Ltd have begun the construction of the 34 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Tangier, Morocco.
The power plant, which cost US$37 million, is expected to generate approximately 66,149 MWh of electricity annually which is enough for the consumption of up to 19,200 homes.
A subsidiary of Veolia Morocco that delivers drinking water and electricity has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The facility is financed by Attijariwafa bank, a major local commercial bank.
