Albioma SA, a French energy developer, has started the commercial operation of its 48 MW biomass cogeneration project in Brazil.
The Vale do Parana Albioma biomass project is located in the town of Suzanapolis in the state of Sao Paulo. It has secured a long-term power purchase deal until 2046.
The project is developed by Albioma in partnership with the Vale do Parana sugar mill. The project represents up to BRL121 million (US$23.3 million) of investment.
