ACS, Brookfield reaches financial close for Chimarrao Power transmission project in Rio Grande do Sul

Chimarrão Transmissora de Energia has reached financial close on a BRL2.24 billion (US$0.56 million) transmission line project in Brazil. Special purpose vehicle Chimarrão Transmissora de Energia won the right to build the transmission lines in an auction held in December last year

Brazillian Development of Bank (BNDES) has provides BRL1.76 billion (US$0.449 million) loan to construction group ACS and private equity firm Brookfield, to build power transmission lines in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The project has 1,200 kilometres long transmission line, crossing 43 cities and can transmit about 6.4GW of power.
