Aboitiz Power to energize Davao, Isabela BESS projects in 3 years

Philippines' Aboitiz Power Corporation is aiming to start the commercial of its two battery energy storage system projects in Davao de Oro and Isabela provinces by 2022 and 2024, respectively. 

The construction of the 49 MW project in Maco, Davao de Oro has been progressing and is now 50% completed. Aboitiz has partnered with Finnish developer Wärtsilä to install the project in its Therma Marine, Inc. (TMI) facility. 

The 20 MW Magat battery energy system in Ramon, Isabela will be used as ancillary services at the Magat Hydroelectric Power Plant complex. The construction of the project is expected to finish by the second half of 2024.
