Aboitiz Power Corp. starts the installation of a 49 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in the floating power plant in Davao region of the Philippines.
Aboitiz Construction is partnering with Wartsila Corp. in installing the first BESS project in its Therma Marine, Inc. (TMI) facility in Maco, Davao de Oro.
BESS is a type of energy storage system that is capable of storing energy electrochemically. It can be connected to the grid, small grid, distribution system, or end-user facility to deliver the energy demand when needed.
