EnBW has commissioned its solar park in Langenenslingen-Wilflingen (district of Biberach in the southwest of Germany). With a total output of 80 MW, the 146,016 modules generate enough electricity to supply the equivalent of around 30,000 households every year. This makes it the currently largest solar park in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. The solar power plant took about a year to build and covers an area of around 80 hectares.
Electricity from the Langenenslingen solar park is fed into the local grid via a dedicated substation located approximately 4 km away in Beuren, connecting to the region's 110-kilovolt high-voltage network. EnBW initiated planning for the project in 2019, with project developer SolNet assisting in securing the land and managing the urban land use planning process. EnBW handled the detailed technical design and project optimisation. The land-use process concluded with the adoption of a bylaw at the end of 2022. The project received its building permit in June 2023, and construction began in February 2024.
