Argentina's Ministry of Energy and Mines has announced the inauguration of the 70 MW Parque Eolico Puerto Madryn I (PEM I) wind park in Chubut province.
The project was developed by Genneia SA at a site in Puerto Madryn, Chubut province, southern Argentina. The wind park was built at a total cost of US$122 million.
The PEM I project spreads 2,000 hectares and was switched on in August 2017. It features 20 units of Vestas' V126 wind turbines, which should be able to generate 300,000 MWh per year, capable of meeting the annual demand of 100,000 local homes.
