The 2 MW La Matallana photovoltaic (PV) plant located in Lora del Rio has been connected to the grid. With an estimated production of 3,400 MWh per year, the facility is able to meet the annual electricity demand of some 1,370 households. It is expected to offset some 914,600 kg per year of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The EUR1.8 million (US$2 million)solar facility is part of the construction of three PV parks worth of EUR5 million (US$5.7 million) investment from its developer, Som Energia.
