Vestas has signed an agreement with Engie Brasil Energia SA to supply wind turbines for the Serra de Assuruá wind park in the state of Bahia, in the municipality of Gentio do Ouro, Brazil.
The 846 MW Onshore wind project will be developed in two phases, the first phase of the wind facility will have a capacity of 540 MW. The firm order includes the initial supply, installation, operation and maintenance of 120 V150-4.5 MW turbines for the first phase and the option for ENGIE to purchase another 68 units by the end of 2022 for phase two of the wind park.
Additionally, Vestas will provide an Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement with a 25-year term. Through this arrangement, energy output will be optimized while also ensuring the long-term viability of the business case.
The delivery and commercial operation of the wind project is expected to start after the Q2 of 2024.
