Neoenergia has started the operational tests for the first 7 wind turbines of the 566.5 MW Neoenergia Oitis wind complex located between the states of Piauí and Bahia, Brazil.
The wind complex will consist of 12 wind farms, equipped with 103 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.5 MW. The project´s total capacity is capable of generating power for a city with 2.7 million inhabitants.
The energy generated in the Neoenergia Oitis wind farms will be 96% of the energy generated in the Free Contracting Environment (FCE), and 4% will be sold in the regulated energy market. The delivery of this phase was made a month ahead of the schedule. The Full operation of the wind complex is scheduled for the second half of 2022.
