GE Energy Financial Services acquires 49% stake in 148.5 MW wind farm in India

GE Energy Financial Services, a subsidiary of General Electric, has completed the acquisition of a 49% stake in the 148.5 MW wind farm in Gujarat, India, from Continuum Green Energy.

The project comprises 55 units of GE Renewable Energy’s 2.7-132 onshore wind turbines. The project has the capacity to produce enough green energy to power 125,000 households. The energy produced from the plant will be sold to Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under a 25-year agreement. 

The financial information of the transaction was not disclosed, however, the estimated value is approximately US$30 million. The wind farm is expected to reach full commercial operation in June 2022.
