Mahindra Susten, the renewables division of the Mahindra Group, has completed a 175 MW AC solar project in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, India. The capacity is the first phase of a larger 250 MW solar project being built on a 900-acre site that will all be connected to the interstate transmission grid.
Over a 25-year term, the project will provide power to the Solar Energy Corporation of India at a fixed rate of INR2,540/MWh (US$32.8/MWh).
To enhance productivity and reduce land requirements, the project uses bifacial modules. Solar panels have been cleaned with water-free robots. The project has been claimed as the first solar plant of this scale in India to use bifacial module technology.
