Envision Energy Breaks Ground on 50 MW Wind Project in Sri Lanka

Envision Energy has partnered with HayWind One Limited to begin construction of a 50 MW wind power project in Mannar, northern Sri Lanka. Developed and invested in by HayWind One Limited, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka's conglomerate Hayleys PLC, the project is a key addition to Sri Lanka's renewable energy portfolio.

Envision Energy is supplying 10 EN-156/5.0 MW wind turbines, delivering a total installed capacity of 50 MW and generating approximately 207 million kWh of clean electricity annually. Designed to fully harness Mannar's high and stable wind resources, the turbines feature a hub height of 110 meters, enabling higher energy yield and improved project economics. The project marks Envision Energy's first utility-scale wind turbine order in Sri Lanka and is scheduled to be commissioned by March 2027.

To withstand the coastal environment marked by elevated salinity and humidity, Envision Energy has implemented a tailored anti-corrosion system designed to improve turbine resilience and ensure sustained operational reliability. The company will additionally deliver comprehensive lifecycle operations and maintenance services, supporting safe, efficient performance over the project’s planned 20-year lifespan.
