Longroad Energy has announced the financial close and start of construction of its 202 MWdc (150 MWac) Umbriel solar photovoltaic (PV) project, located in Polk County, Texas, USA.
The development of Umbriel began in 2017, and it is anticipated to reach commercial operations by the end of 2023. The facility will have the capacity to generate enough energy to power more than 30,000 households. Through a long-term Power Purchase Agreement, Entergy Texas Inc. (ETI) will acquire its entire output. The solar farm is projected to reduce approximately 250,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year, significantly contributing to the fight against climate change.
Zions Capital Markets acted as Coordinating Lead Arranger and Administrative Agent, while Silicon Valley Bank and Rabobank served as Coordinating Lead Arranger and Joint Lead Arranger, respectively. Longroad additionally arranged tax equity for the solar project.
