China Huadian Corporation Ltd. (CHD) has inaugurated a 120 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Tibet. The installation is located at Nagqu, which is roughly 4,500 m above sea level.
The project received an investment of CNY890 million (US$127.8 million) from China Huadian. The facility is capable of producing 247 million kWh of power annually. In 2020, the world's highest utility-scale solar-plus-storage facility was also constructed in Tibet, at an elevation of around 4,700 m.
China Huadian Corporation is one of the five largest state-owned power generation enterprises in China, administrated by SASAC for the State Council. It engages in the generation and supply of electricity and heat, and the development of power-related primary energy.
China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) has connected the 900 MW Shanwei Jiazi offshore wind project, located around 25 km off the coast of Shanwei, Guangdong province, southern China.
