Company description
Synhelion is a Swiss cleantech company founded in 2016 as a spin-off of ETH Zurich, focused on developing and commercializing renewable synthetic fuels for the decarbonization of the transportation sector. The company has developed a proprietary technology that uses renewable energy, water and carbon sources to produce synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), diesel and gasoline that are compatible with existing engines and fuel infrastructure. Synhelion commissioned its first industrial-scale plant, DAWN, in Jülich, Germany, in June 2024 and is now scaling its technology toward commercial production. The company works with industrial and transportation partners including Eni, Lufthansa Group, SWISS, CEMEX, Wood and Zurich Airport.
