Xcel Energy has started the operation of the 500 MW Cheyenne Ridge wind farm project

Xcel Energy Inc has started the commercial operation of the 500 MW Cheyenne Ridge wind farm project located in Colorado, USA. 

The project consists of 229 Vestas wind turbines installed across Cheyenne and Kit Carson counties. Mortenson has built the project. 

The project is expected to produce enough energy to power up to 270,000 homes.
