Wpd AG has sold seven Enercon E-82 wind turbines, each with a hub height of 108 meters and a nominal output of 16.1 megawatts, to Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG. Five plants have been in operation since November 2014, the other two since December 2016. With a total of around 30 million KWh per year, the seven plants supply around 10,000 households with renewable electricity.
Dr. Gernot Blanke, CEO of wpd AG, is pleased about the cooperation: "We attach great importance to cooperations with municipal utilities, because this can strengthen the local participation in the expansion of wind energy. Over the years, we have built numerous partnerships - this year alone, there are two parks that we have sold to municipal utilities. We are also pleased to have found another reliable partner in Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG - Unternehmensgruppe.
