Total Eren, Beon step in to deliver commissioning of 256.5 MWp Kiamal solar project in Victoria

The owners of the largest solar park in Victoria, 256.5 MWp Kiamal solar project, have stepped in to commission complete the commissioning of the long-delayed facility.

Ellaktor, the parent company of Biosar that is one of the construction company for the solar project, has accumulated huge losses in its portfolio of solar projects in Australia. The company is exiting the solar energy market.

Total Eren, a unit of France’s Total SA, have temporarily stepped-in to manage commissioning works on site with the assistance of Beon, a local Victorian-based electrical contractor. The responsibility for the finalization works at Kiamal Solar Farm will be handed back to the EPC Contractor once fully commissioned. The EPC Contractor continues to be onsite and after the temporary step-in period, the EPC Contractor will remain responsible for the performance of Kiamal Solar Farm, including having a primary role during the operations of the project.

The Kiamal photovoltaic (PV) farm comprised of about 718,000 solar panels with single-axis trackers. It can generate enough power to supply over 133,500 local homes.
