Tilt Renewables has announced that it has approved the AUD560 million (US$403.4 million) Dundonnell Wind Farm project to proceed to financial close. The project involves the installation of 80 wind turbines across an approximately 4500ha site located 23km north-east of Mortlake, Victoria (south-east Australia).
Financial close is expected to occur before the end of 2018, with construction planned to start in early 2019 in order to achieve full commercial operations by September 2020. The wind farm will be connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM) via a 38km 220kV transmission line to the Mortlake Gas Fired Power Station (MOPS).
The project was successful as part of the Victorian Renewable Energy Auction Scheme (VREAS), and has been awarded a Support Agreement for approximately 37% of the output. Tilt Renewables has also executed another 15-year offtake contract with an investment grade counterparty for a further 50% of the capacity of the wind farm, bringing the total contracting level to 87%.
